I apologize for the long delay in getting another post out. But, life has been interesting, to say the least these past few weeks. I thought producing content for my small blog wasn't as important as what the United States and its citizens are currently going through.
With that said, I thought I could at least give a short update on my current book endeavor. I've hit a pretty big roadblock that has caused me to go back to my outline and move things around accordingly.
I never know what to expect when writing a book, and this is also a first for me, but it felt like the best thing for me to do to ensure I don't get stuck again. So, that's where I'm at...I'm rearranging/deconstructing my outline.
I'm hoping for smoother sailing once I correct some of the issues I was having a hard time reconciling within the story.
If anything, I would say this proves not to be afraid to stop and reassess things if it's starting to feel wonky when you're writing. Even if you're on a tight deadline, editors appreciate quality writing compared to rushed or shitty content.
Also, I think they would appreciate a heads up more than anything if you discovered some significant issues in the story and are taking a detour to correct them. I experienced this before, but I didn't tell my editor what I was doing.
She didn't appreciate that, lol!
She actually could've helped me fix the issues must faster if I just informed her. So, keep that in mind. It's okay to pause, reassess, and if you're working with an editor, make sure and include them in on your problem.
Anyway, I wanted to keep this short and sweet. So, I hope you all are still writing your stories/content!
Thanks for reading!
